Beach Photos

I live in close proximity to a beach, and was thinking it will be neat to consider my DSLR camera in that area to consider some photos of your sunrise and sunset, and more specifically the times ahead of the dawn and once the sun sets. I’ve seen the precise days of twilight before dawn and right after the sun sets referred to as the “15 Golden Minutes,” and then in my experience, that definitely rings true. There’s something magical about these periods, with the eerie light which you won’t see in almost any other circumstance. There’s merely a short window of time to find the very best photos that you could of the times prior to the sun rises or before it will come down.

And So I set out one evening, around 5 PM, and headed right down to the beach. Luckily, around this time it wasn’t very crowded, even in the summer. I laid down a towel and then went returning to the auto to get my tripod and camera. I noticed my camera was managing a bit low on battery – I actually have a Canon Sx170 IS, so I used stk NB-6LH battery charger that i bought away from Amazon in a vehicle and started to charge the battery. I allow the camera sit in a vehicle for approximately 1 hour (obviously beneath the seat because i was a little afraid it could possibly stolen). It absolutely was okay, though, since it still wasn’t a good time to accept photo, not yet those 15 Golden Minutes. Thus I just relaxed on the beach, occasionally adjusting my tripod’s position according to where I figured I would require it.

Once it was actually finished charging (or had charged enough), I went straight back to the automobile to retrieve it. No, it hadn’t been stolen or anything! Therefore I brought it to my little encampment about the beach and placed it around the tripod. After about another hour of reading my light was beginning to fade, and so i started playing around with all the camera settings. You have to have manual exposure on, for the reason that light will likely be changing very rapidly. It’s funny, that – you find the passage of energy much more closely when you’re taking photos at these periods.

We have a bit of knowledge about shooting through the night and possess found that, counterintuitively, you need to actually lessen the aperture size (surge in numerical value) for the best pictures. You wish to use long exposure here as a result of low quantity of light. At any rate, it will become a lot more intuitive the greater dexopky44 you need to do it. I stayed at the beach for about an hour or so after it begun to get dark, and got some great, long-exposure photos in those optimal fifteen minutes. Long-exposure can produce some great photos at nighttime time. It’s always cool to see the gradual advancement of sunlight setting across the time of, say, 30 seconds to a minute.

As soon as the light went away completely, I actually stayed a bit longer to try to get some good true nighttime photos. Obviously, without having way to obtain light, nothing much became available. I did so have a flashlight so I tried some light painting – those pics were okay, good enough to upload to my Facebook and gets some “likes,” anyway. The long-exposure photos of your limited time once the sun dipped across the horizon were fantastic, though.
